MOST PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE THE GREAT POTENTIAL FOR A TERMITE ATTACK ON THEIR HOME.

EASTERN SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES (RETICULITERMES FLAVIPES) ARE VERY COMMON IN KENTUCKY. THEY ATTACK PRIMARILY FROM THE SOIL BY CONSTRUCTING SMALL HOLLOW MUD TUBES THROUGH WHICH THEY TRAVEL. THEY CAN BUILD THESE MUD TUBES ON THE INSIDE PERIMETER OF A BLOCK FOUNDATION OR COME UP IN THE HOLLOW BLOCK VOIDS WHERE THEY CANNOT BE SEEN. THEY ALSO MOVE UP TO THE WOOD UNDER YOUR HOUSE BY WAY OF THE PIERS OR FLOOR SUPPORTS. TERMITES CAN GET THROUGH A SMALL CRACK IN A CONCRETE SLAB WHERE THEY SOMETIMES TRAVEL UNDER CARPET TO REACH AN ATTRACTIVE FOOD SOURCE.

SOME PEOPLE UNDER ESTIMATE THE ABILITY OF A TERMITE COLONY. SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IF THEY DO NOT SEE THE 'SWARMERS' THEY ARE TERMITE FREE. THE SWARMERS ARE THE REPRODUCTIVES THAT ARE LEAVING THE COLONY TO ESTABLISH OTHER COLONIES. THE SWARMERS DO NOT DO THE DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME. THE 'WORKERS' ARE THE CRITTERS THAT ATTACK AND RIDDLE THE WOOD OF A STRUCTURE WITH DAMAGING TUNNELS.

MOST OF THE TIME A TRAINED TERMITE TECHNICIAN CAN DETECT TERMITE ACTIVITY IN A YOUR HOME AND THEN OFFER AN AFFORDABLE SOLUTION TO PROTECT YOUR HOME.
